Fir Folk Stonework & Craftwork

Fir Folk Stonework is a stonemason and dry stone waller that builds dry stone walls, retaining walls, patios, steps and fireplaces, along with mortared stonework modeled on historical masonry methods. Services also include stonework design, small-scale landscape design, sourcing stone and stone patination, the process of accelerating the aging of stone.

The owner, Steve Sclar, is a Level 2 certified dry stone waller through the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain and a certified DSWA instructor. Work is done for homeowners across southern, western and midcoast Maine, with a stated service area that includes Portland, Yarmouth, Scarborough and South Portland. Customers can text or call to talk through a design they already have or to get help building a vision.
