Asia West

Asia West is a Portland furniture and home decor shop that sells handmade pieces from Southeast Asia. Its selection includes teak furniture and outdoor pieces, hand-blown glass vases and terrariums made in Indonesia, hand-painted iron watering cans, and small brass pots inspired by the traditional lota vessel of South Asia. The owner, Tod Dana, buys directly from artisans on regular trips to the region, which the shop says keeps prices fair and skips middlemen.

The business moved into a larger showroom in Portland, where the full catalog is on display. It also works as a wholesale source for retailers and interior designers across New England. Many glass pieces are one-of-a-kind, so each vase or terrarium will vary in size, color and marks from the photos. Shoppers can buy in person or call the shop to purchase.
