Kallis German Butcher Shop

Kallis German Butcher Shop is a German butcher and specialties grocery in Port Charlotte, run by the same family since 1985. The meats are hand cut, and the house sausages follow German family recipes brought over from Germany, including Bratwurst, Weisswurst, Frankfurters, Blutwurst, Liverwurst and Zwiebelwurst. Smoked meats, cold cuts, salami, hams and bacon are also made in the shop, and the owner is said to make his products without preservatives.

Beyond the meat counter, the store stocks a wide range of German groceries, including cheeses, European sandwich spreads, baking ingredients, beers and German sweets and cookies year-round, not just at Christmas or Easter. Customers from many backgrounds shop here. The store is on Tamiami Trail (US 41) in Port Charlotte, with parking around the building, and it is open Tuesday through Saturday.
