Surface-Arts

Surface-Arts is a furniture restoration and decorative finishing studio run by owner E. Jay Baptiste. The work includes fine antique furniture restoration, gold leaf frame restoration, veneer repair and color matching, along with decorative painted finishes such as wall glazing, Venetian plaster, stenciling, wood graining and marbling. The studio also sells fine furniture, decorative objects, artworks and antiques from its shop.

Furniture repair and refinishing can be done at the studio or in the client's home, including on-site touch-ups. Homeowners, architects, designers and businesses all bring projects in, and new clients are asked to call for an appointment to talk through the job. The shop is on Fourth Street in Pittsfield, in the Berkshires, and is open weekdays during business hours.
