Reclaimed materials for creative reuse and recycling1800 N American Street, Philadelphia, PA
The Resource Exchange is a nonprofit shop, gallery and workshop space that sells reclaimed and reused materials for artists, builders, teachers and do-it-yourself homeowners. Since 2009 it has kept hundreds of tons of material out of landfills, and the shop stocks a wide mix of unusual salvaged items for creative projects. The group also runs a reCreate Gallery and hosts workshops such as block printing.
The shop and gallery are open Wednesday through Saturday and on Sunday afternoon, and online orders can be picked up curbside at any time, with a pickup slot chosen at checkout. Donations of acceptable materials are taken by appointment through its donation page, and gift cards are sold on the website. Free customer parking is in a fenced lot on North American Street in Philadelphia's Fairhill area, near the Berks station on the Market-Frankford line.
