Thrift store funding local HIV/AIDS services710 S. 5th St, Philadelphia, PA

Philly AIDS Thrift is a thrift store whose sales fund local organizations working against HIV/AIDS. Donated clothing, housewares, furniture and other resellable items are sold across three floors of the store, and the proceeds go out as grants. The organization has given over $5,000,000 to HIV prevention, outreach, case management, research and education programs, and in February 2025 it awarded $358,085 to 34 HIV/AIDS service groups across the Delaware Valley.
The store is open seven days a week, with shopping starting at 11 AM, and it takes donations of gently used items all year round. Volunteers are welcome. The shop also runs a free, drop-in HIV testing room with counseling, and it provides store vouchers to clients of partner HIV/AIDS providers. The store is on South 5th Street in the South Street Headhouse District, and the nonprofit also operates Philly AIDS Thrift @ Giovanni's Room, the historic LGBTQ and feminist bookstore in Center City.
