The Wellness Place is a holistic clinic in Palm Desert led by Betty McDonald, a licensed acupuncturist and functional medicine practitioner. Its work centers on peripheral neuropathy, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and recovery support after cancer treatment, with an emphasis on lifestyle changes and nutrition. The clinic also sells frequency specific microcurrent (FSM) units for home use.

FSM units require a doctor's prescription to purchase. Each one comes with a health consultation, custom programming for the buyer's conditions, a treatment-plan review, a progress check-in, and ongoing email support. Cancer recovery support and nutrition guidance are offered as well, and appointments are arranged by phone.
