Affordable homeownership and home repair across Thurston County910 5th Ave, Olympia, WA

South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International that builds affordable homeownership communities in Thurston County. Partner families help build their own homes alongside volunteers and then pay an affordable mortgage. The nonprofit also runs a home repair program that improves the quality and health of existing homes, offers homeownership and financial education classes, and advocates for affordable housing policy.
The organization has been working in Thurston County since 1989 and is governed, funded and built locally. Its main office is on 5th Avenue in downtown Olympia, with a mailing address as a PO Box. Habitat Stores in west Olympia and Yelm sell donated goods, and the group accepts car donations. Current developments include townhomes near the Tumwater Regional Airport, cottages and townhomes in Yelm, and a 112-home project on Boulevard Road SE in Olympia that is accepting applications in 2026.
