OakVet Animal Specialty Hospital

OakVet Animal Specialty Hospital is a veterinarian-owned emergency and specialty hospital for pets. Its ER doctors and veterinary technicians handle urgent cases around the clock, while board-certified internal medicine specialists, surgeons, oncologists and radiologists handle referred and planned care. Surgery focuses on minimally invasive techniques such as arthroscopy, laparoscopy and thoracoscopy, and the hospital also offers interventional radiology and I-131 treatment for feline hyperthyroidism.

Emergency visits need no appointment, including on holidays. Specialty consultations are scheduled by appointment, and non-emergency requests are handled by email with a name, phone number and specialty. The hospital is in Oakland and describes itself as a purpose-built facility and the first 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital in the city.
