Jim Gardner Construction

Jim Gardner Construction is a family-owned residential contractor focused on structural work: foundation repair and replacement, drainage systems such as french drains and downspouts, basement digouts, and earthquake and seismic retrofitting. The company also handles entry stairs and porches, retaining walls, and similar structural repairs. Jim has been building in the East Bay since the early 1990s, when his crew shifted toward foundation and drainage work.

The company serves homeowners in Oakland, Berkeley, Piedmont, Alameda, El Cerrito, Albany and Kensington and works mainly on projects that would start 30 to 90 days out. It does not do real estate purchase inspections or bid on properties until escrow closes. Its office is in Oakland, and it owns its own dump trucks, a Bobcat loader and excavator, and shoring equipment so it can do most work without subcontractors.
