Gen-Tech Construction is a licensed general building contractor focused on foundation work, seismic upgrades, drainage repairs and the sidewalk inspections and repairs required under Oakland's sidewalk ordinance. Its foundation work covers slab on grade, two and three story foundations, pier and grade beam foundations, basements and retaining walls. Seismic work includes bolting, shear panels, metal bracketing, hardy panels and moment frames.

The company says most of its business comes through referrals and that it has been operating for over 18 years. Site visits for bids usually take about half an hour, with a written estimate within three business days. It does not do structural evaluations or employ structural engineers, but will review engineering plans and drawings and bid from them. The office is on MacArthur Blvd in Oakland.
