Aurora Painting & Decorating

Aurora Painting & Decorating paints and restores historic homes across the Bay Area, including Victorians, Craftsmans, brown shingles and landmarks by Bernard Maybeck, Julia Morgan and John Hudson Thomas. The company says it is not a production painter; its work centers on careful prep under the finish, with historic restoration as its known specialty. Interior and exterior painting, commercial work and finish painting for custom new builds are also offered.

Aurora serves the East Bay, including Berkeley, Oakland, Piedmont, Kensington, Albany and Alameda, along with Marin towns such as Mill Valley and Corte Madera, and takes select projects in Orinda, Moraga and Atherton. Estimates start with a walkthrough and written proposal, and the owner walks each job at the start and finish. Every employee is background-checked, the same crew stays on a job, and crews clean up daily.
