Acquaviva

Acquaviva is a family-owned Italian winery and ristorante known for its own estate wines and traditional Italian cooking. The vineyard grows Midwest-hardy grapes such as Chardonel, Frontenac and Marechal Foch, and the winemaking happens in a production center visible from the building. The dinner menu leans on meats and fresh seafood, and the estate also runs a Neapolitan-style pizza bistro.

Tastings at the tasting bar are open to the public when the bar is open and don't need reservations, but dinner reservations are worth making because weddings and private events can take over the restaurant. Happy hour runs on weekday afternoons and includes discounted wine flights and cocktails. The Batavia restaurant is on North Water Street, while the family's vineyard estate, with tours and events, is on Route 38 at Meredith Road in Maple Park.
