The Rock Restaurant serves gyros, Mediterranean dishes and American favorites in Uptown Normal. The menu grew from gyros, falafel and garlic chicken to include hummus, grape leaves, spinach pie, baba ghannoush and desserts, and the restaurant also offers catering for local events.
The Rock opened in December 1999 on Dale Street and moved to North Street in May 2011. It is known among Illinois State students and locals for its sandwiches and friendly service at a fair price. Carry-out and delivery are available, and the dining room was expanded in December 2014. It is open Monday through Saturday, with Sunday closed.
