Irish pub with a Dublin-designed interior and imported artifacts126 East Beaufort Street, Normal, IL
Maggie Miley's is an Irish pub on East Beaufort Street in Normal, built to look and feel like an authentic Irish pub. The design came from a firm in Dublin, the bars were crafted by Irish carpenters and assembled on site, and many of the artifacts came straight from Ireland. The pub is named for Maggie Miley, whose plan to open a pub in Normal was blocked by a local ban on alcohol sales that stayed in place until 1973.
The pub is split into two sides: a Cottage side that reflects traditional Irish heritage and a Victorian side. The aim is good food, a well-poured drink and a warm, friendly atmosphere, and the staff are happy to answer questions about the place. The general manager, Peter, is a native of Dublin. Gift cards are available, and the pub stays open late on weekends.
