Jefferson Lab

Jefferson Lab, formally the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, is a U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science national laboratory. Its main draw is CEBAF, a particle accelerator that scientists from around the world use to study the basic building blocks of matter and the forces that bind them. The lab's work covers nuclear physics, accelerator science, theory, and the Electron-Ion Collider project.

The lab is run by SURATech, LLC under contract to the Department of Energy and has a large staff of scientists, engineers, and support personnel. It offers outreach programs, public events, and a business program that includes a small business program and procurement opportunities. The campus is at 12000 Jefferson Avenue in Newport News, Virginia.
