Coastal Fermentory

Coastal Fermentory is a brewery in Newport News that started with home brewers who wanted to open their own place. The brewhouse team comes from engineering backgrounds and spends much of its time researching and experimenting to improve the beer. The brewery is also known for its charitable work, having worked with more than 70 local nonprofits.

The main taproom is downtown on 23rd Street in Newport News, and a second location is in Uptown on Jefferson Avenue. The company also runs Rip Rap Brewing at 25th Street in Norfolk. Blzn Tacos, a food truck, appears at events, and its schedule is posted on social media.
