Venezia serves home-style Italian food from its original New Orleans restaurant, open since 1957. The menu centers on red sauce dishes, hand-tossed 14-inch pizzas and pastas such as baked ziti, lasagna and stuffed shells, along with veal parmigiana, seafood entrees and steaks like the prime ribeye. Portions are generous, so come hungry.
The Carrollton Avenue dining room is closed on Tuesdays and has later hours on Friday and Saturday. Reservations and online ordering are available, and the restaurant hosts private parties and offers catering. Newer locations operate in Gretna and Kenner. The Gretna location serves the same menu and adds tableside Caesar salad and live piano on Friday and Saturday nights.
