Nonprofits & charities in New Orleans

Nonprofits and charities work on causes that matter to a community, whether that means helping people find housing, food, or support, caring for animals, or offering programs for young people and families. Services listed by groups like these can include adoption and fostering, thrift shopping, donation drop-off, event space, coworking, and business coaching or access to capital, though every organization offers a different mix. Before you choose one, ask what share of donations goes directly to programs and whether they can show recent financial reports. If you plan to volunteer or donate goods, call ahead to confirm drop-off hours and what items they accept, since many have limits.
