Gabrielle Restaurant is a New Orleans restaurant serving Cajun food with a New Orleans twist, cooked by Chef Greg Sonnier. The menu is known for its slow roasted duck, New Orleans style barbecue shrimp pie and the Peppermint Patti dessert. The restaurant has been open since 1992, first on Esplanade Avenue and then on Orleans Avenue after a long closure following Hurricane Katrina.
It is a small, family run dining room co-owned by Chefs Mary and Greg Sonnier, so reservations are recommended. Dinner is served Wednesday through Saturday, with the dining room opening at 5 p.m. and last reservations at 9 p.m. Bbook through Resy or by phone, up to 30 days ahead. The largest table seats 12, and the dress code is smart casual with no jackets required and no tank tops or gym attire.
