Gulf Coast ingredients with French, Mediterranean and Asian influence430 Dauphine St., New Orleans, LA

Bayona serves imaginative cooking built on Gulf Coast ingredients, with influences drawn from France, the Mediterranean, Asia and beyond. The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Christy Engeran, and the menu offers lunch, dinner and brunch, with a wine and spirits list to match.
The restaurant opened in 1990, founded by Chef Susan Spicer and Regina Keever, and Spicer later won a James Beard Award for Best Chef: Southeast. Lunch runs Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and dinner runs Monday through Saturday, so plan on Sunday being a closed day. Reservations are booked through Resy. The dining rooms sit in a restored 200-year-old Creole cottage in the French Quarter, and the courtyard is a pleasant spot for lunch.
