Versiti

Versiti is a nonprofit blood services organization covering five Midwest states. It supplies difficult-to-match blood and complex lab testing for hospitals and clinicians, runs blood donation centers, and handles organ and tissue donation. Its research arm, the Versiti Blood Research Institute, studies blood disorders such as hemophilia and leukemia.

Donors can schedule a donation online, complete the pre-donation health screening through VersiPASS, and then meet with blood center staff for a short check-in and mini-physical before the donation itself, which usually takes about 10 minutes. Organizations can host a blood drive, and volunteers can sign up for blood drives and donor centers. The Milwaukee location is the Blood Research Institute on West Watertown Plank Road.
