Punky's Diner & Pies is a 50s-style diner known for homemade breakfast, scratch-made soups, and deep dish pies. Breakfast is served all day, with country sausage gravy, corned beef hash, old-fashioned waffles, and grits and mashed potato cakes that are unique to the menu. Burgers are hand made, and the 1/3 pound hamburgers are never frozen. Homemade English muffin bread, apple butter and jams are also made in house.
The 9 1/2 inch pies serve eight and are made by Punky or her granddaughter Anna. Whole pies can be ordered 48 hours in advance. Gluten free bread and buns are available on request, and the diner hosts an August car show and has a meeting room. It is open Monday through Saturday, closed Sundays, on Medford Center in Medford.
