The Atomic Star Tavern

The Atomic Star Tavern is a locally owned tavern in Mankato serving hand-formed stuffed burgers, with six varieties on the menu. Regulars point to the Ziggi Zaggi, topped with corned beef and sauerkraut, and the Fat Elvis, which pairs peanut butter, bacon and bananas. The kitchen also turns out wings with its signature Atomic sauce, along with sandwiches, wraps and salads.

The tavern is family-oriented and runs a casual bar with a full menu. Its brand new bar and menu are both recent additions. It opens at 11 a.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. on weekends, and stays open until 2 a.m. every night, so it works for a late meal as well as lunch.
