The story

The Dusty Bookshelf sells mostly used books, from recent romance to gripping thrillers, and serves handmade drinks such as caramelized banana lattes and honey lavender lemonade, with syrups that change monthly. The shop also buys, sells and trades books and can suggest a read to match your mood.

The Manhattan shop is in Aggieville on the corner of Manhattan and Moro, and there is a second location on Mass Street in Lawrence. Monthly events include the Silent Book Club, Willow Tree Book Club, Craft Night and Zine Club. The business has operated since 1898, when it began as a hub for college students, and it reopened after a fire during renovations in 2017.
