Stalzy's Deli

Stalzy's Deli & Bakery makes hand-crafted deli food from scratch, with house-made sandwiches, German-style sides and bakery items. The Rachel, a sandwich of pastrami or turkey pastrami, swiss, creamy slaw and Russian dressing on rye, is a popular pick, and the Friday fish fry with walleye has long been a neighborhood favorite.

The dining room closed in November after thirteen years, so the shop now runs as a takeout and curbside pickup counter, open Tuesday through Sunday. Orders can be placed online or by phone, and catering is available. The deli is at 2701 Atwood Ave. on Madison's east side, and the business also sells bread and sandwiches at the Monona Farmer's Market on Sundays in summer.
