Specialty food shops in Madison

Specialty food shops in Madison, WI help people with the ingredients and gear for making food and drink at home, from a first batch of beer to a bottle of wine made from concentrate. Many carry beer recipe kits, grain and hops, fermenters, bottling supplies, kegging equipment, and grape juice for winemaking, and some offer brewing classes or equipment rentals. When you choose one, ask whether staff can help you pick a kit for your skill level and whether they can explain the equipment you will need. Check that the shop stocks the parts you plan to use, and call ahead before a class, since seats and schedules can fill up.
