Dane County Humane Society

Dane County Humane Society is a nonprofit animal shelter that cares for companion animals, exotic species, barnyard animals, and injured, sick, or orphaned wildlife. Its services include adoption, a Lonely Hearts Club for pets that need more time to find a home, help for lost and found pets, pet surrenders and rehoming, microchipping, dog training classes, and euthanasia and cremation. The shelter also runs an equine and livestock program and a feline ringworm treatment program.

The main shelter is at 5132 Voges Road in Madison. Microchips are offered for dogs and cats by appointment at the main shelter. The society's thrift stores, one on the west side and one on the east side of Madison, raise money for the shelter's work and sell donated goods, including pet supplies.
