The Pie Kitchen

The Pie Kitchen is a Louisville bakery and dessert shop known for fresh-baked pies, scratch-made cakes, cookies, cupcakes and small-batch ice cream. It started in 1982 as a lunch counter in an old auto dealership and grew into a pie case and then an ice cream case. Recipes are still made from scratch, from the crusts and fillings to the ice cream. Upside down cupcakes and a range of pies are among the current favorites.

You can dine in at the interior tables or carry out. Whole pies and special-occasion cakes for birthdays and anniversaries can be pre-ordered by phone, and the shop takes custom birthday cake requests. It also caters parties, offices and celebrations. Stores are on Bardstown Road in Fern Creek and Highlands, St. Matthews, Springhurst and New Albany, and the Plantside Drive address is the company's main office.
