The story

Bae's Baekery is a Louisville cake and pastry shop known for jumbo-stuffed cookies, baked fresh every couple of days in more than 10 flavors. The bakery also makes custom cakes, wedding cakes, cookie cakes, cupcakes and French pastries such as cream puffs and brown butter brownies. Abigail Mattingly started the business in 2019 from her home kitchen, and it later moved into a storefront.

Custom and wedding cakes need two weeks' notice, while BAEsic and pre-designed cakes can be ordered on a shorter timeline. Cookies and pastries can be bought in the shop daily or ordered online in advance. The store is on Frankfort Avenue in the Highlands and is open Wednesday through Sunday, and several wholesale partners carry the bakery's products.
