Kaviar Forge & Gallery is the blacksmith studio of sculptor Craig Kaviar, who has made functional ironwork and sculpture for about 30 years. His work includes artistic handrails and gates, fountains, signage, furniture, lighting, and public art, with a noted use of birds and leaves as organic motifs. Commissions include sculpture for Norton Hospital and Owensboro Hospital, and work at the Downtown Louisville Public Library and many area churches and homes.
The gallery is on the same premises as the forge in the Clifton neighborhood of Louisville, and visits are by appointment only. Kaviar also teaches occasional classes at the studio and works with apprentices daily. Requests for custom work can be made through the website's quote form.
