Heimerdinger Cutlery

Heimerdinger Cutlery sells kitchen knives, scissors, pocket knives, shaving products, pruning tools and magnifiers from brands such as Wüsthof, Victorinox, Felco and Kai, and is best known locally for its sharpening service. The store has been in business since 1861 and is run by the founding family's descendants, now in the fifth generation.

Sharpening is done in the store, and customers can walk in or send tools by mail, including from outside Louisville. Scissors and knives can also be given free name etching, and orders over $200 ship free. The shop is at 4207 Shelbyville Rd in Louisville and is open Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday.
