The Bookstore

The Bookstore is an independent bookshop in Lenox that has been operating since 1966, when it began in Stockbridge before moving to Lenox. Matt Tannenbaum has owned it since 1976, the same year the Shade Gallery opened inside, and the gallery has shown work by artists from Los Angeles, Boston and New York. The shop also hosts many local authors over the years.

Get Lit is the store's bar, serving wine and drinks, and it is open whenever the bookstore is, with some later nights on weekends. Customers can call or email to order a book for pickup or have it shipped, and gift certificates are available. The store sits in Lenox in the Berkshires.
