Builds shelter and job training for people facing homelessness15555 SW Bangy Rd. Ste. 301, Lake Oswego, OR

Home Building Foundation, operating as HomeAid Portland, is a nonprofit that builds and renovates shelters and transitional housing for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. It works with the home building industry, recruiting builders, remodelers and trade partners who donate or heavily discount labor and materials, so partner service providers can spend more on their programs than on construction. Past projects include emergency and transitional shelters, sleeping pod villages, a home for girls escaping sexual exploitation, and resource centers.
The organization also runs workforce training that connects participants with education and jobs in the home building industry, along with community drives for basic necessities and awareness and advocacy work on housing insecurity. Residents of its shelters are supported with services aimed at self-sufficiency. Volunteering, donations and events are handled through its website. The office is in Lake Oswego, and its projects span the Portland metro area, including Clackamas and Washington counties.
