The River Merchant

The River Merchant is a restaurant and wine market on the Cuyahoga riverfront in Kent, known for an upscale, inventive menu with seasonal features, a craft cocktail program, and a wine shop with over 350 selections of wine, craft beer and custom merchandise. Dishes include pan seared pierogies, flatbreads, pastas, burgers, sandwiches and entrees such as steak au poivre and lemon dill salmon.

The restaurant offers indoor dining and a seasonal patio, along with carryout and retail. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 PM at the bar. It is a good fit for business lunches, date nights and family gatherings, and the dining room has a rustic look with historic photographs of the old canal ways and the railroad along the river.
