The Capable Canine

The Capable Canine is a dog training facility in Arundel that offers group classes and private lessons using clicker and reward-based methods. Classes cover puppy training, beginner through advanced obedience, enrichment, Canine Good Citizen preparation, and day school, and the owner, Jessica Robichaud, has been a certified professional dog trainer for about 20 years. The team also includes trainers certified through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, and the business is a member of the Pet Professional Guild and the Association of Force Free Trainers.

Private lessons are mostly held at the training facility on Alfred Road, with home visits offered only on a limited basis within about 15 miles. The business is not currently taking aggression cases, so callers with those concerns should check first. Trainers also offer nose work and scent sport instruction, and the owner's staff page shows the team's interest in force-free training methods.
