Skipper's Cafe

Skipper's Cafe is a family-run breakfast and lunch spot on Marina Bay Drive that serves American breakfast alongside Greek home cooking and fresh Gulf seafood. Regulars come for the pancakes, omelets and chicken fried steak in the morning, and for the gyros, moussaka and pastitsio from the Greek kitchen. The Psarovarkas family opened the cafe in 1994, and the second generation now runs the kitchen.

Skipper's opens at 5:30 in the morning and serves until 2 PM, seven days a week, so it works best as a morning or early lunch stop. Breakfast is served until 2 PM, and the Greek and seafood items are available through the same hours. Takeout is available, and the kitchen asks for phone calls for to-go orders, allergies and questions. The cafe sits on the water in Clear Lake Shores, and the counter and corner booths are where many longtime customers sit.
