Memorial School of Music

Memorial School of Music is a private music school founded in 1997 that offers lessons on a range of instruments, including guitar and piano. Its teachers hold music degrees and have performance and teaching experience, and instruction covers sight reading, technique, ear training, music theory in classical, jazz and contemporary styles, and improvisation. The school also offers preparation for audition, UIL and region contests.

Lessons take place in the school's studios, and the school tries to match students with a preferred teacher, day and time. It has its own recital hall and regular performance opportunities for students. Weekday lessons run in the late afternoon and evening, Saturday hours are in the morning and early afternoon, and Friday is virtual lessons only. The school is at 14520 Memorial Drive in Houston's Memorial area, on the west side of the city.
