The story

Pioneer Saloon is a plate lunch counter founded in 2009 by Nori Sakamoto, aiming to serve high quality plate lunches at an affordable price. The menu is built around chicken, pork and beef plates, including mochiko chicken, teriyaki chicken, ginger pork, tonkatsu, shoyu pork, hamburger steak and Korean style yakiniku beef.

The Monsarrat Avenue location near Diamond Head is the original shop and offers dine-in with a rustic, casual feel, or plates to take out for nearby beach visits. A second location in Kaka'ako at SALT is also listed, and the business has online ordering for both.
