The Anvil

The Anvil Gym is a strongman and powerlifting gym that started in 2006 as a small group training strongman in a garage. It has grown into a roughly 10,000 square foot facility with specialty bars and equipment for general gym-goers, bodybuilders, powerlifters and strongman athletes alike. Members are expected to respect the gym, its people and its equipment, and chalk and loud music are part of the culture.

Membership has no join fees and no contracts. The gym is open to members 24/7, and prospective members can call, text or email to schedule a tour. The gym is in Hiawatha, just north of Cedar Rapids.
