Best Paw Forward

Best Paw Forward is a dog training business offering positive reinforcement classes for puppies, pet dogs and dogs preparing for sport or certification. Its course list covers puppy kindergarten, basic and level 2 manners, agility, rally, flyball, loose leash walking, recall, shy dog work, Canine Good Citizen and therapy dog preparation. Training rewards desired behavior with praise, treats and toys, and avoids fear, force and intimidation.

Classes are group sessions that meet once a week for a set number of weeks, and registration must be completed in advance by mail or phone. Some classes are not open to reactive dogs, and shock, prong and choke collars are not allowed. Private one-on-one sessions are available for specific behavior concerns. The main office is in Hartland, with a second training location in Pewaukee, and the business serves southeastern Wisconsin.
