Washington County

Washington County Solid Waste & Recycling runs the county's Forty West Landfill and four convenience centers for residents. It handles household trash disposal, recycling drop-off, and the residential mulch and compost program. Illegal dumping complaints are also filed through the department.

Residential solid waste permits are sold at the landfill's permit building and at the convenience centers, which are open Tuesday through Saturday. Landfill office phones are answered on weekdays only. Landfill scales close in the afternoon, so plan to arrive well before then.
