Award Beauty School

Award Beauty School trains students for licensed careers in cosmetology, professional barbering, esthetics and nail technology. The cosmetology program covers 1,500 hours of instruction in hair braiding, haircuts, hair styling, skin care and customer service, with students practicing on real clients in a supervised classroom clinic. The barbering program runs 1,200 hours and covers men's and women's haircutting, hair coloring, chemical texture services, shaving and facial hair design, and prepares students for the state board exam. The nail technician program is 250 hours and prepares students for the Maryland State Board of Cosmetologists exam.

The school has trained students in the Hagerstown area for more than fifty years and is accredited. Financial aid is available to those who qualify, and programs can be completed in roughly 3.5 to 7.5 months depending on the course and schedule.
