Acorn School

Acorn School is a non-profit play-based preschool and kindergarten for children around ages three to five. Its teachers use movement, art, music and theater alongside science, world cultures and the arts, and outdoor play is central to the day. The school is TimberNook certified, with a focus on nature play and engaging the senses, and it also emphasizes environmental education.

Classes are small, with low student-teacher ratios and two or three teachers per group. Programs run in half-day sessions on set weekdays, and families can book a tour by phone. The school is at 136 Winnicutt Road in Stratham, and it also runs a summer camp.
