Prairie Whale is a farm-to-table restaurant that opened in October 2012 in a former antiques store and book shop. Its menu is seasonal and changes weekly, and the kitchen runs a butchery and charcuterie program that produces coppa, dry-aged grass-fed steaks and bacon from whole animals. The restaurant serves dinner and keeps a bar with six rotating craft beer taps, wines by the glass and cocktails.
Dinner is served Thursday through Monday, with Friday and Saturday running later than the rest of the week. Reservations can be made through the Resy app for parties of up to eight, and a few tables and all bar seats are kept for walk-ins. Larger groups should call the restaurant.
