Cafe Adam is a seasonal restaurant known for menus built around fresh local ingredients, many sourced from farmers, bakers and food producers in the Southern Berkshires. The kitchen has no fixed theme and changes its cooking with what is at its best at the time. Chef and owner Adam Zieminski opened the restaurant in 2006 with business partner Sylwia Orczykowska, after training in kitchens in England and New York and at the Wheatleigh Hotel in Lenox.
The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday evenings, and reservations are available through its website. Some herbs, berries and flowers come from the restaurant's own grounds during the growing season, and the shellfish and seafood are sourced through BerkShore. Cafe Adam is at 420 Stockbridge Road in Great Barrington, in the Jenifer House Commons.
