Guido's Fresh Marketplace is a family-run food market that grew out of a roadside produce stand Chris and Matt Masiero opened in 1979. Its marketplace model lets separate vendors run their own shops inside the store, including Mazzeo's Meat & Seafood, Bella Flora for flowers and gifts, and The Chef's Shop for kitchen tools. Shoppers come for the hot bar, salad bar, fresh sandwiches, sushi and housemade prepared foods, and in the fall for housemade apple cider donuts and caramel apples.
Guido's has two stores, in Great Barrington and Pittsfield, and both keep the same hours most days, 9am to 7pm, with Sundays closing at 6pm. Café Rena keeps its own hours at each location. The stores offer catering with carry-out, gift cards, gift baskets and a senior discount, and they close on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
