Tamales Mary

Tamales Mary is a Mexican restaurant known for its handmade gluten-free tamales, with eight kinds to choose from and vegan and vegetarian options. The menu also includes Veracruz-style dishes, and reviewers mention the elote and the flan. The owner, Mary Martinez, started out selling tamales at Tacos El Cuñado in Grand Rapids before opening her own tamaleria, which now makes up to 900 tamales a day.

The Wyoming location is at 1253 Burton St SW, and there is a second location in Eastown plus a food truck and catering. Both locations serve lunch and dinner most days, and Wyoming is open Sundays until 4 PM. Catering is available for events.
