Mines Golf Club is an 18-hole public golf course with rolling fairways and bent grass greens, set on land about 150 feet above former gypsum mines. The course has four sets of tees and roughly 110 feet of elevation change, and it is known for its natural, up-north feel in an urban setting. Golf Magazine listed it among the top public access courses under $100 in 2024.
The Gypsum Grill & Event Center is open daily with lunch and dinner, plus breakfast on Sundays, and overlooks the 5th and 9th holes. The club also has a 3-hole walking-only par 3 short course, The Pit, where groups get up to 45 minutes of play for $12, and a driving range. The Pit Golf Center with heated suites and simulators is under construction. The club is at 330 Covell Ave SW in Grand Rapids, near downtown.
