Black Napkin is a takeout burger and fried chicken spot on Fulton Street East, started by the founders of Any Colour You Like popsicles. The smash burgers are the main draw: 3 oz Michigan craft beef patties, smashed thin and served on a Nantucket sesame challah bun, in single, double, or triple sizes. The menu also includes buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches, battered fries, and house-made sodas.

Orders are placed in person at the walk-in counter, and online ordering isn't offered. There is no phone line, so questions go by email or Instagram direct message. Vegetarian and vegan patty options are available for a small upcharge, and gluten-free buns cost a dollar extra. A weekly feature is posted on Instagram, and Friday and Saturday service runs until sold out.
